Libretto by Ivan Kuznetsov after the fairy-tale of the same name by Charles Perrault The ballet “Cinderella” by Sergei Prokofiev, staged by the Musical Theater, is intended, on the one hand, to introduce young spectators to the world of ballet with a bright and colorful spectacle, and on the other, to please theater regulars with a new libretto and original choreography, created with great respect for the highest academic traditions. Sergei Prokofiev's music often tests one's strength and pushes one to experiment, but in creating the production of Cinderella, choreographer Ivan Kuznetsov adhered to the desire to create a holistic, classical performance in the best traditions of Russian ballet. With large corps de ballet dances, mise-en-scenes that are clearly readable by the audience, solo monologues and, of course, lyrical duets. | ||||||||||
