The Bolshoi Theatre starts off its 235th season with the world premiere of the ballet "And then, One Thousand Years Peace".Creation 2010 by the outstanding contemporary French choreographer Angelin Preljocaj. The project forms part of the Year of France in Russia and of Russia in France.
Bolshoi to Open Season at Teatro Real de Madrid
The premiere series of performances will be on 2, 3 (at 12.00 and 7.00) and 4 July. Shown together with Petrouchka on 2, 3 at 7.00 and 4 July will be Russian Seasons and the Big Classical Pas from the ballet Paquita; and on 3 July at 12.00 — the Big Classical Pas from Paquita.
The Bolshoi’s cooperation project with La Scala continues, one of the key points of which is cultural exchange between the two Companies.
On 24 June 2010 the Academy will give a concert at the Bolshoi New Stage, on 26 June — at the Big Hall of the St. Petersburg Philharmonia.
Bolshoi is to perform on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace. Two performances of The Sleeping Beauty — will run on June 15, 16 and 17.

The first series of first night performances of Le Jeune Homme et la Mortat the Bolshoi will be held on 4, 5 and 6 June

On 18 May the prizewinners will be announced at the award-giving ceremony which will wind up with a gala (charity) concert of Benois 2010prizewinners.
As per tradition, on the following day 19 May, there will be a second concert at which Benois prizewinners of previous years will join their Benois 2010 colleagues.
