| Pavel BubelnikovConductorPeople's Artist of Russia Graduated from the Leningrad State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire (class of Professor Musin). From 1968-1993 was a conductor with the Maly Theatre of Opera and Ballet and managed a wide repertoire of operas and ballets. Toured with the company to Austria, Germany, Italy, Lebanon, France and Japan. In 1987 together with stage director Alexander Petrov, he established the Zazerkalie State Children’s Music Theatre and remains Principal Conductor of the theatre to this day. From the 2004-2005 season he has been a guest conductor with the Mariinsky Theatre. Conducts the operas Eugene Onegin, The Queen of Spades, The Tsar's Bride, The Tale of Tsar Saltan, La traviata, Rigoletto, Nabucco and Madama Butterfly and the ballets Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Romeo and Juliet, Leningrad Symphony, The Young Lady and the Hooligan, Symphony in С, The Overcoat after Gogol and Le Réveil de Flore. From 2008 he has been Guest Conductor of the Mikhailovsky Theatre. Awards:
- Recipient of the Government of St Petersburg Prize;
- Recipient of the Golden Sofit, St Petersburg’s most prestigious theatre prize;
- Nominee for the Golden Mask, Russia’s most prestigious theatre prize.
