Alexei Bogorad

Conductor

Alexey Bogorad was born in 1979, in Moscow, in a family of musician. Graduated Central music school, Moscow State Conservatory and aspiranture as a clarinettist. Participated and won number of International clarinet competitions. 1997-2011 worked in the Bolshoy Theater orchestra as a principal clarinetist, at the same time since 2001 is a soloist of Russian National Orchestra as well.


As a soloist of orchestra played under the leadership of: Mstislav Rostropovich, Valery Gergiev, Evgeny Svetlanov, Gennady Rozhdestvensky, Youry Temirkanov, Paavo Berglund, Zubin Metha, Kent Nagano, Ogan Duryan, Charles Dutoit, Michel Plasson and others.
Since 2004 Alexey attended conducting lessons, studied with Professor Fuat Mansourov in Kazan conservatory. 2006-2009 studied in a Moscow State Conservatoire with Professor Gennady Rozhdestvensky and graduated with honors.


Won fellowship from American academy of conducting at Aspen festival (USA). Founded soloist ensemble of Russian National orchestra and performed on some major festivals of contemporary music and other events. Worked on the productions of operas: "May Night", "Wozzek" , "Don Giovanni", "Ruslan and Ludmila", "Fiery Angel" in the Bolshoy Thater of Russia as an assistant conductor. Won second prize and special prize from Ukraine National Symphony on the Stefan Tourchak International conducting competition in Kiev.


Won competition for the position of trainee-conductor in the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia. Since December 2011 appointed as a conductor of Svetlanov State Symphony Orchestra (Chief conductor Vladimir Jurowsky).
Recorded 2 CD's of classical ballet music for "Columbia records" label with Russian Radio orchestra. Leaded productions of "Nutcracker" ballet in Oita city (Japan) and "History of soldier" in Russian Theater Academy (Moscow). Performed with Russian State Chamber orchestra, Tatarstan State Symphony orchestra, Lithuanian State Symphony, Ukraine National Symphony orchestra, Michailovsky theater orchestra and others.
Recently held debut performances with Russian National Orchestra, National Philarmonic orchestra and Svetlanov Symphony Orchestra, performing pieces by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, R.Strauss, Berlioz, Wagner, Dvorak, Sibelius, Barber and others. Cunducted performances of "Madam Butterfly" by Puccini in Perm opera theater.


In October 2011 won "Lovro von Matacic international conducting competition" in Zagreb.
In the season 2011/2012 conducted in Bolshoi over 40 performances.
Since season 12/13 resident conductor of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia.
