Conductor

Born 1990 in Perm, Russia, Dmitry Kryukov studies Opera and Symphony Conducting at the Moscow State Conservatory and works as assistant conductor of Valery Polyansky at the State Symphony Capella of Russia (GASK). 

 

After making his debut with GASK in 2011, Dmitry Kryukov has regularly performed at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory, Moscow International House of Music, and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall among all others. 


He assisted Gennady Rozhdestvensky in preparation of the "Foggy Albion" concert series; in 2013 became the Chief Conductor of the Moscow Festival "Skriabin.Fest", and in 2014 debuted as a guest conductor at Bolshoi Theatre Moscow with Rimsky-Korsakov's The Tsar's Bride - production, he has later conducted on Bolshoi Theatre concert tour in Hong Kong and recorded on DVD.


In the 2015/16 season he conducted Stravinsky's The Rake's Progress, Wolf-Ferrari's I quatro rusteghi, Alexander Zhurbin's The Petty Demon, Handel's Giulio Cesare and Cleopatra, Shostakovich's The Age of DSCH, and Rimsky-Korsakov's Servilia, all at the Moscow Chamber Opera Theatre named after Boris Pokrovsky.

 

Most recently he has led the Russian premiere of the first version of Mahler’s Das Klagende Lied  at the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.

 

His vast repertoire includes works of different periods and styles - from Bach to Gubaidulina - Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Schumann, Bruckner, Brahms, Mahler, Sibelius, Borodin, Glazunov, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Scriabin, Prokofiev, Shostakovich's all symphony and concert works; Verdi, Mussorgsky, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich, Prokofiev's operas; cantatas and oratorios.
