Luciano GanciTenorConsidered one of the most interesting voices of the new generation, tenor Luciano Ganci took his first steps in music as a “voce bianca” in the Choir of the “Cappella Musicale Pontificia Sistina”, directed by Maestro Domenico Bartolucci. As a child he began studying singing, piano and organ, obtaining diplomas at the Conservatorieses of Santa Cecilia in Roma, Licinio Refice in Frosinone and Ottorino Respighi in Latina. In addition to his musical studies, he got a High School diploma in Surveying. Subssequently he attained a Civil Engeneering degree in Urban and Land Planning at the Rome University La Sapienza. In 2006 he began studying opera, perfecting his skills with Otello Felici in Rome and Francesca Patané and Marco Chingari in Lugano. A tenor gifted with a wide and luminous sound, Luciano has been active since 2009, with debuts in Mozart's LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Puccini's GIANNI SCHICCHI, and then, in 2010, in the role of Alfredo in Verdi's LA TRAVIATA. These performances were soon followed by a couple more Puccini debuts, as Rodolfo in LA BOHEME and Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY, and in the following year as Oronte in I LOMBARDI ALLA PRIMA CROCIATA by Verdi and Turiddu in CAVALLERIA RUSTICANA by Mascagni. 2012 marked Luciano's international debut with LA TRAVIATA in Salzburg. A few months later he made his debut in L'AMICO FRITZ by Mascagni, and in the same year he sang in CHRISTUS AM OELBERGER by Beethoven, in Mozart's Requiem and Manrico in Verdi's IL TROVATORE. Also, in 2012 he recorded a new album of music by Mascagni for Chandos label. Since then more new roles have followed, in Verdi's IL CORSARO and ATTILA, and in Verdi's REQUIEM in 2013. Cavaradossi in Puccini's TOSCA, Macduff in Verdi's MACBETH and Beethoven IX SIMPHONY followed in 2014, Rodolfo in LUISA MILLER, Amenofi in Rossini's MOSE' (available on DVD) and Pollione in Bellini's NORMA in 2015, Carlo VII in Verdi's GIOVANNA D'ARCO (available on DVD) in 2016, Gustavo III in UN BALLO IN MASCHERA and STIFFELIO by Verdi (available on DVD), Puccini's MESSA DI GLORIA and Don José in Bizet CARMEN in 2017. The most recent debuts include, in 2018, FRANCESCA DA RIMINI by Zandonai, LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR by Donizetti and the PETITE MESSE SOLENNELLE by Rossini: in 2019, came the role of Don Alvaro in Verdi's LA FORZA DEL DESTINO and ANDREA CHÉNIER. In 2020 the role of Radamè in AIDA. During these years, he has sung at: La Scala in Milan, San Carlo in Naples, Arena di Verona, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Maggio Musicale in Florence, The Verdi Festival and the Teatro Regio in Parma, Haus fur Mozart in Salzburg, Opernhaus in Graz, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Palau del Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, Teatro Liceu of Barcellona, Arena Sferisterio in Macerata, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari Herodes Hatticus and Opera in Athens, Opera of Antwarp and Gent in Belgium, Bolshoi in Moscow and Marinsky in Saint Petersburg, Spring Festival in Budapest, Royal Opera of Muscat in Oman, Abu Dhabi Theater in the Arab Emirates, Astana Opera in Kazakhstan, NCPA in Beijing, Hyogo Opera Festival in Japan and Seul Art Centre.
