Graduated from the Russian Academy of Theatre Arts (GITIS).
Has staged a number of drama and opera performances in Russia and abroad. He has also been the set and costume designer for almost all of his productions.
Recipient of many Russian theatre prizes. Awards include the International Stanislavsky Prize and Russia´sGolden Masktheatre prize 2002,2004, 2005 and 2008).
