Soprano Irina Mataeva is a principal at the Marinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg where she has been coached by Elena Obratzova, Renata Scotto and Larissa Gergieva. She has already made an impact on the international stage with her stunning performances of Pique Dame at the Washington Opera and Carmen at the Los Angeles Opera with Placido Domingo.
Past enagements include a recital with the Mariinsky Academy at the Wigmore Hall in London, a recital with Larissa Gergieva at St John’s Smith Square as a part of the ‘Rosenblatt series’, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin at the Chatelet in Paris, Japan, Washington DC, Munich State Opera and at the Opera de Marseille and Zerlina in Don Giovanni at the Washington Opera, Natasha in War & Peace at the Metropolitan Opera and Sampiero Corso at the Opera de Marseille.
