Friedemann Vögel was born in Stuttgart, trained with Marika Besobrasova in Monte-Carlo, with the John Gilpin Scolarship. In 1997 won of the cash-price, Prix de Lausanne, and became a winner of the Junior Gold Medal, Prix de Luxembourg. Also in 1998 he won the Gold Medal, Euro-City Competition (Italy) and the Bronze Medal, Inernational Ballet Competition Jackson (USA).

In 1998 Friedemann Vögel joined the Stuttgart Ballet, 2000 promoted as a half-soloist 2001 promoted as a soloist, 2002 promoted as a principal dancer. In 2002 he is a winner of the Erik Bruhn price, Erik Bruhn Competition Toronto (Canada).

His repertoire include: Swan lake, Prince Siegfried (Cranko), Theme and Variations (Balanchine), Giselle, Albrecht, Sleeping Beauty, Prince Desiree (Haydee), La Fille mal Gardee, Colas (Ashton), Apollo (Balanchine), Poeme de l´Extase, Poet (Cranko), Onegin, Lenski (Cranko), Edward II, King Edward II (Bintley), Sinfonie in C, First Movement (Balanchine), In the Middle somewhat elevated (Forsythe), Carlotta´s Portrait (Spuck), Still Nest (Dumais), Lady and the fool, Prince (Cranko), Five Tangos (van Manen), The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude (Forsythe), Les Sylphides (Fokine), Two pieces… (Blavier), Dances at a Gethering (Robbins), Dreamdeepdown (O´Day), Nocturne (Spuck), Violine Concerto, Aria II (Balanchine). Guestings in Japan, Italy, Germany, Korea, Australia, Monaco, Russia, Greece, July 2003 invited for the World Ballet Festival in Tokyo.

In 2005 he was nominated for Benois de la Danse Prize.
