Nominees for Benois de la danse-2010 announced

She has been nominated for her performance as Nikia in Ludwig Minkus’s La Bayadere (choreography Marius Petipa, Yuri Grigorovich version) and for her interpretation of the title role in Cesare Pugni’s La Esmeralda (choreography Marius Petipa, staging and new choreographic version by Yuri Burlaka, Vasily Medvedev). Among the candidates for best male dancer is Bolshoi Ballet premier Mikhail Lobukhin, nominated for his interpretation of Ali-Batyr in Farid Yarullin’s ballet Shuraleh (choreography Leonid Yakobson), at the Maryinsky Theatre of which Company he was a member until early 2010.
The Benois de la danse-2010 award-giving ceremony and the concerts of present and past prize-winners will be held at the Bolshoi Theatre on 18 and 19 May.
