Telenor, the Norwegian telecommunications company — official Bolshoi Theatre sponsor since 2008 — supports cultural projects the world over, rightly believing that art is the best form of communication between people. In 1995, it set up the Telenor Culture Award, also known as Boundless Communications, which is given to individuals or organizations, making outstanding contributions to the development of culture.

This year the winner of the prize was the well-known Danish-Islandic artist Olafur Eliasson. The award ceremony was accompanied by a gala concert at the National Theatre, Oslo. The Bolshoi Theatre opera — Anna Aglatova and Dmitri Beloselsky — and ballet — Chinara Alizade and Dmitri Zagrebin — soloists taking part in the concert were given a warm reception.
