Only 5 days left till "Carmen" premiere, and the exposition dedicated to the history of stagings of the legendary opera at The Bolshoi will be open in the Historical stage grand tier foyer till the end of the season.
The exhibition will tell the visitors the stage history of the opera and spill the beans on the current rehearsal process.
"Carmen" has a rich history on The Bolshoi stage: there have been 8 productions, it has been designed by outstanding artists and has been sung by the best singers - the beauty and the pride of Russian musical theatre.
Among the showpieces you can find scenography sketches, photos of scenery miniatures and scenes from the performances for every of 8 past stagings - from 1998 till 2008. Photos of scenery maquettes by Stanislav Benedictov and costume sketches by Valentina Komolova for the coming premiere are represented at the exhibition as well.
You can see the outstanding performers of main parts from different years on the photos. The original stage costumes for The Bolshoi great Carmens - Elena Obraztsova, Irina Arkhipova, Tamara Sinyavskaya and Galina Borisova made a center of the exposition as usual.
You can visit the exhibition till July 19 during the tour over the Historical stage or before the performance you attend.
