Today, on April 1, The Bolshoi Orchestra will perform "Over the Rainbow" concert at Beethoven Hall.
The funniest day of the year will be dedicated to light and cheerful music. The concert named after famous Oscar-winning song by Harold Arlen will consist of XIX-РҐРҐ centuries "pop" music hits, which is not tipical for The Bolshoi on other 364 days of the year.
The program will include pieces by Johann Strauss, Jr., Jacob Gade, Scott Joplin, Henry Mancini and other maestros of light entertainment transcribed for different kinds of consorts. The audience will also listen to rare classical compositions in unexpected interpretation.
