13 January 2015, TuesdayOn January 12th legendary opera singer Elena Obraztsova passed away. She performed at the best world theatres and has been loved by audience all over the world. Elena Obraztsova debuted at The Bolshoi still being a student, she performed as Maryna Mniszech in "Boris Godunov" in 1963. In October, 2014, the concert dedicated to singer's 75th anniversary has been held on The Bolshoi Historic stage. Elena Obraztsova was creatively active till her las days, generously shared her talent with young singers and helped many of them to rise. Farewell ceremony will be held at The Bolshoi on January 14th from 11:00 a.m. till 03:00 p.m. The commemoration will start at 12:00 a.m. (Moscow time). January, 15th, liturgy and the funeral will start at Cathedral of Christ the Saviour (Volkhonka, 15) at 09:00. Elena Obraztsova will be buried at Novodevichy Cemetery.
