Laureates of the DANCE OPEN Award were announced in Saint-Petersburg
On April 28th DANCE OPEN 2014 Award Ceremony took place at the Marble Hall of the Russian Ethnography Museum. Participants of the star-studded Gala, which took place at the Alexandrinsky Theatre a bit earlier, were waiting for the results of the jury's voting anxiously.
Each laureate was awarded a unique prize - a crystal replica of the sculpture, created by Boris Fredman-Kliuzel, using the cast of the great ballerina Anna Pavlova's leg. All winners also received special prizes from the company Grishko, an official partner of the DANCE OPEN Festival.
The Bolshoi Theatre's soloists Kristina Kretova and Semyon Chudin were awarded the prizes in the nominations "Ms. Virtuoso" and "Mr. Virtuoso"; at the Gala the dancers starred in the Grand Pas from the ballet "Bluebeard", choreographed by Marius Petipa in the end of the 19th century and revived by Vasily Medvedev, the Festival's artistic director. David Goloschekin and Dina Korzun gave out the prizes.
