W e wish him success in his creative career and all the best! W e also published the photo album "The Bolshoi Theatre closed its guest performances in the USA" The performances of the Bolshoi Ballet and the Bolshoi Orchestra became a jewel in the crown of the International Summer Dance Festival that is taking place in Saratoga Springs (the USA). The ballet "Don Quixote" was performed at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center open amphitheatre four times. The Bolshoi Theatre closed its American tour with four guest performances in this picturesque city. Earlier the company made a triumphant appearance at the Lincoln Center Festival. This was the first time that the Bolshoi Theatre has performed in the USA after an almost ten- year break. For articles published 4 august 2014 The Guardian interviews Natalia Osipova and Ivan Vasiliev about their new show Solo for Two which is having a successful run in London right now. The critic says they were formerly "the Bolshoi's golden couple". The Independent reviews the Mariinsky Ballet's Romeo and Juliette in London saying that when the Bolshoi Ballet first performed the Leonid Lavrovsky version of this ballet in London many years ago it was fresh but now it has grown stale and dated but that but that excellent performances by Mariinsky principals Diana Vishneva and Vladimir Shklyarov rescue the performance. The Weekly Standard (USA) reviews the Bolshoi Ballet at Lincoln Center writing that the Bolshoi brought old standard classics to New Y ork but that its Swan Lake was worth watching because of David Hallberg and Svetlana Zakharova.
