The Bolshoi Theatre Director disposed of the speculation, voiced by the "Vedomosti" reporter
The Bolshoi Theatre General Director Vladimir Urin sent to the editors' office a reply to the review "The opera "The Tsar's Bride" by N. Rimsky-Korsakov with the 1955 set by Fedor Fedorovsky was revived at the Bolshoi Theatre". The author of the review speculated about changing the conductor of the production next season.
Vladimir Urin writes: "The Bolshoi Theatre administration, I and the recently appointed music director of the theatre Tugan Sokhiev are satisfied with the work of the outstanding conductor Gennady N. Rozhdestvenksy and have no intensions to introduce any changes in his musical interpretation of the score. We plan that Gennady N. Rozhdestvensky will conduct this production in the future".
A holiday in the center for oncology research
A holiday, marking International Childhood Cancer Day, took place at the Children's Oncology and Hematology Research Institute of the Russian N. Blokhin Center for Oncology Research, which is one of the Russia's largest federal oncology centers. The children enjoyed the creative work of famous artists. The event was organized by the charity foundation "Nastenka"
The Bolshoi Theatre artists traditionally come to support children who are undergoing treatment at the hospital; the artists performed a short program that included fragments from the ballets "Don Quixote" and "Cipollino". The Honored Artist of Russia and actor of theatre and cinema Valery Yeremenko performed a medley of Yuri Entin's songs; this was another nice surprise for the children and their mothers. Then The Moscow State Historical and Ethnographic Theatre presented the performance "A Tale about Kind Maryushka, Brave Ivanushka and Evil Baba-
Yaga" (with the support of the Tupperware CIS company); cheerful entertainers inflated balloons and entertained all those, who gathered in the hospital conference hall. Mass media about the Theatre

The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre cooperates with the Bolshoi Theatre
In 2014 the Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Company will perform at the Bolshoi Theatre. As we were informed by the Primorsky Krai Department on Culture, such arrangements were made at the meeting of the State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theatre Artistic Director Anton Lubchenko and the Bolshoi Theatre General Director Vladimir Urin.
Anton Lubchenko announced: "We will bring the ballet "The Fourteenth" to the music by D. Shostakovich; it has been provoking more and more interest lately. We will also present a symphonic program together with our orchestra. To be invited to the Bolshoi Theatre in the first year of our creative career is a great honor for us. We will treat this opportunity with the maximum responsibility".
Ways for further cooperation between the theatres have been discussed at the meeting as well. According to Anton Lubchenko, joint opera productions have become more and more popular lately. "There is a possibility that in the next calendar year the Primorsky Theatre will carry out such a joint production together with the Bolshoi Theatre. Most likely, this will be a Russian classical opera. We have also agreed that this year our company will perform at the Bolshoi Theatre",- Mr. Lubchenko said.
