"Il Viaggio a Reims" is an operatic dramma giocoso, originally performed in three acts, by Gioachino Rossini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Balocchi, based in part on Corinne, ou L'Italie by Mme de Staël.

Rossini's last opera in the Italian language (all of his later works were in French) premiered under the title Le voyage à Reims, ou l'Hôtel du Lys-d'Or. It was commissioned to celebrate the coronation of French King Charles X in Reims in 1825 and has been acclaimed as one of Rossini's finest compositions.

In Il viaggio to Reims an elite international company has gathered in order to travel on to Rheims for the coronation of Charles X of France. Pending their departure, the ladies and gentlemen flirt and quarrel with one another. Suddenly, it is announced that the journey cannot go ahead, as there is no means of transport. The travellers sing about their fate in a large ensemble. Then a letter arrives from Paris saying that the king will return there after the ceremony and great festivities are planned for the occasion. The Countess invites everyone to her house in Paris. In anticipation, the group holds a party and everyone joins in a song of praise to the new king as a finale.
