This Friday, on June 5, U.S. Ambassador's to Russia wife Mariella Tefft payed a visit to The Bolshoi. The embassy initiated to transfer "New York Times" and "Washington Post" issues with responses to Maya Plisetskaya's death to the theatre's museum.

Mariella Tefft said: "This is a huge honor for me to visit this wonderful museum and to pass the American newspapers. My husband and I were really grieved over news of Maya Plisetskaya passing. These papers show that she was a legend of Russian ballet and an outstanding artist. Maya Plisetskaya embodied The Bolshoi best traditions. I admired her talent just as millions of people all over the world".

"Maya Plisetskaya has been regarded as one of the greatest ballerinas of the 20th century and a truly personification of the Bolshoi Theater for decades," - "New York Times", May 2, 2015.

"Maya Plisetskaya, one of the foremost 20th-century ballerinas, was identified with the Bolshoi Ballet of her native Russia, but her theatrical fire, magnetic presence and physical virtuosity communicated wordlessly with audiences around the world," - "Washington Post", May 3, 2015.
