Today, on April 18, the legendary Bolshoi Theatre dancer, one of the most outstanding ballet artists of the 20th century, People's artist of the USSR Vladimir Vasiliev celebrates his 75th birthday.

In honour of this anniversary The Bolshoi will be hosting a new Vladimir Vasiliev production on the Historical stage stage: "Dona nobis pacem" ballet to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach's Mass in B Minor, performed by the Tatar State Musa Jalil Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The parable-performance will be starring orchestra artists, chorus, ballet dancers and opera singers including The Bolshoi soloist Agunda Kulaeva.

The Bolshoi Museum prepared "The Fragments of One Biography" exhibition for the significant date. The expositional foyers of the Historical stage will introduce Vladimir Vasiliev in 3 of his guises - as choreographer, stage director and scene-designer - presenting scenery and photos of rehearsals and scenes from performances that he has staged. The Chorus Hall will expose Vladimir Vasiliev and Ekaterina Maximova photos and scene costumes in which the legendary duet performed at The Bolshoi. The exposition at the New stage foyer is a photo gallery of images created by Vladimir Vasiliev at The Bolshoi.

The exhibitions will be open till May 1st.
