On 16th June, Rudolf Nureyev made his "leap to freedom". The 23-year-old Kirov Ballet soloist requested political asylum and defected to France. This act is seen as one of the most extraordinary defections in ballet history. A direct participant in those intriguing events, the renowned French choreographer Pierre Lacotte, shares his recollections of those tense few days with us in an exclusive Green Room interview.
